When it is summer in the northern hemisphere, Advance Kiting goes back to its roots, Turkey. We are based in Alacati - Cesme, but we are not settled at all. Advance Kiting travels around the world every winter time, believing that the summer should be endless. Here are short summaries of some of the amazing spots we hit during the season in Turkey, along with the spots where we feel like home.

Alacati, Cesme, TURKEY

Our base in Cesme peninsula, Bu Bi Surf School in Alacati is located on a natural playground for kitesurfers and windsurfers thanks to its wide, shallow bay and the Meltem, a seasonal climatic system that creates great wind throughout the summer, from May-September and more often in October. The meltem wind is strong and stable. It's reliable with over 25 windy days a month during the summer.

In summer, the meltem wind starts like clockwork at 10-11 am, strengthening during the afternoon to 4-5 Beaufort, before dying out at sunset. But it is not uncommon for the wind to get up to 5-7 Beaufort, and continue blowing day and night for a week or more. Small kite days and huge jumps...
Off-season the wind is more variable but the weather is still warm in April/May and October/November. Even in December, the kitesurfing conditions can be excellent. There are some great kiteboarding spots on the Cesme peninsula for freestyle and wave riding. You will have the place to yourself too.
Best time for kitesurf in Alacati is May and October when the wind is good for kitesurfing and the weather is great.

Boracay, PHILIPHINES

Boracay is one of the Philippines best kitesurfing locations thanks to the constant wind that blows every day throughout the “Amihan” season which is from November to April. The Bulabog lagoon stretches over 3 bays for 2 ½ km providing a huge shallow playground for beginner to advanced kitesurfers. It is the perfect spot to learn kitesurfing as there is shallow waist depth water, flat warm water, the sunshine and regular wind.
